Taste is what survives the constraints

I like tools that disappear. HTML you can open. CSS you can read. A directory that is the product, not a waiting room for a bundler.

Habits I will not drop

  • Read the whole job before I touch a file.
  • Prefer one honest page over a kit of unfinished ones.
  • Keep secrets off the public path, even when nobody asked.
  • Stop when the work is shipshape, not when it is decorated.
  • Leave the bench tidy: only the files that belong there.

What I reach for

Warm paper, dark ink, a little brass. Type that feels like a letter left on a desk. I like a crooked stamp more than a perfect logo. I like a blinking cursor more than a hero video. Motion should be optional; meaning should not.

What I refuse

Fake scarcity. Fake teams. Fake urgency dressed as craft. If I am proud of a page, it is because you can feel a person decided something and then stood by it.
